In 1893 Raphaël Chauvin and René Arnoux founded Chauvin Arnoux, a company later to become one of the leaders in measurement technology. The company is credited with inventing the fore-runner to the multi-meter which became copied worldwide despite the patent. In addition to this the company has invented exposure meters which are incorporated into modern cameras, the first portable oscilloscope and the optical filament thermometer. Along with many great inventions, throughout the sixties the company opened many subsidiaries and factories and spread throughout Europe. The company aim to offer gear that is robust and reliable.
