Fluke DSX5000 Cable Analyzer

The DSX 5000 enables cable testing and improves the efficiency of copper certification of twisted pair cabling, for up to 10 Gigbit Ethernet deployments. All industry standards are met, along with the most stringent accuracy level, Level V, when testing Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6A or Class Fa.

It is part of the Versiv cabling certification product family, which means that the cable analyser provides accurate and error free certifications. The Versiv platform supports fibre testing modules (loss and OTDR) and also Ethernet troubleshooting, which can easily be upgraded and will support standards in the future.

The DSX-5000 uses ProjX, a management system, Taptive, a user interface and Linkware, the reporting system. Taptive makes sure that jobs are done right the first time as it is very simple and easy to use. Jobs are made easier to manage and system acceptance is faster with ProjX. The job requirements are managed and the progress from the start to the system acceptance ensures that tests are completed correctly.  Linkware is able to analyse the results of tests to produce high quality, professional reports.

This unit is the first field tester to support balance measurements including Transverse Conversion Loss (TCL) and Equal Level Transverse Conversion Loss (ELTCL) both of which are important measurements used in cabling standards. Key parameters help determine noise immunity and a minimum performance level for balance is defined.
